Summary
“Can we play pretend for a bit?” She muttered against his chest, her voice barely above a whisper.
“How so?” He kept stroking her hair, he’d give her anything she wanted in the confines of this dream. Anything to soothe her pain.
She pulled back slightly, she had gotten relatively good in manipulating the Fade, her fascination with the spirit realm beyond the veil had remained strong despite her mentor leaving. She focused her thoughts, her will bending the dreamscape to her desires.
The landscape around them began to change. Before them, a quaint, cozy cottage began to materialize through a green glow of magic. Smoke rose gently from the chimney, and soft light glowed from the windows, promising warmth and comfort inside.
“Pretend you’re coming home to me, after a trip of some kind,” she looked at him with a small bittersweet smile. “Pretend we have a domestic happy life together?”
