He faces no less pain when he becomes a defense attorney, but his losses don't shape him into a cruel figure of perfection. The same cannot be said for his childhood best friend, Phoenix Wright, who changed completely from the emotionally inept child he once knew. Miles' sympathy for this flanderized, Shakespearean-like snake must be forgotten about if he wishes to protect the people he cares for most. That is, until he remembers who it is that he truly loves more than anything.
