Summary
Raylan just wants to make a case against Robert Quarles, and if the missing Brady Hughes is his way inside, he'll take it.
"Deputy," Jack said, leaning in like he was imparting a secret. "Everyone knows nothing. And I'd be obliged, sir, if you would not drive up and down the strip in your big black automobile. It's bad for business."

Summary
Steve Moses has one shot at the NHL after three years playing in Finland.
Pekka Rinne is funny and charming, very attractive, and way, way too tall. Steve does not hook up with tall guys, and he never hooks up with guys who make him feel like Rinne does. He is determined to resist the man's magnetic pull because, if he gives in, he knows he can't go halfway, and the idea of giving himself up completely scares him to death.
So does trying to make it in the NHL, but he's doing that anyway.

Bookmarker's Notes
Deeply emotional story, gripping, actually uses that rarest of fic tropes - adult conversation - for some of the plot points.
N.B. there are a lot of typos, wrong word use and names are misspelled and one OC changes names, which are all the signs of badfic right, but this story has some smarts behind it. Depicts depression, anxiety and self medicating in a realistic way (for fic) with some time compression unreality on recovery, but that's to be expected. Female OC who is actually pretty awesome and an interesting commentary on hockey wives is written in a way that will cross over into misogyny for some.
It didn't ever dip too far into fic fantasy (although everyone is way too nice and pro gay) for me and it doesn't tail off into total incoherent id fic about 4/5 through like this sort of thing generally does. YMMV.
There isn't a word for this, but really good badfic is what it actually is.
