“Stupid,” Soonyoung whispers, giggling against Wonwoo’s mouth, still not letting go of his hoodie. “Your room is literally behind me. Do you really like kissing me that much?”

Wonwoo grins, that slow, lopsided grin that always makes Soonyoung’s chest ache. “Yeah,” he answers simply. “I really do.”

    “You’re actually insane.”

    Jihoon squints at him. “What?”

‘Boo hoo, I’m Jihoon and two hot guys want me, life is sooo hard,’” Seungcheol says in a mocking tone, clutching his chest. “Find a real problem.”

Jihoon can handle coffee rushes— just not the two disasters who want him.

If I die, I want you to live your best life; eat your meals on time, and go for long walks on the beach. Pick up an old hobby from your childhood- do it leisurely, but do it well this time. I want you to hang out with your neighbors, and I want you to laugh loudly and smile even wider. Move on, that is my one true wish. If I die, I want you to live your best life- unapologetically.

In which Jihoon and Soonyoung met on a bridge at age four, left the world on the same spot at age twenty-four, and fell in love in between.

    Summary

Hushed murmurs swirled through the air, the footfalls of men in uniform heightening the tension in the neighborhood; barricades were set up, people were pushed back, and a systematic order was placed. Somewhere in the crowd, a couple of gasps pierced through the wails of sirens as a stretcher was wheeled onto the cobbled pathway of the house, the white blanket thrown over what seemed to be a lifeless body, soaking something crimson from beneath.

It was June, and it was the season of melons and pears. In the next following hours, the sun would crawl its way up the mountaintops, shower everything underneath its majestic glow with golden and warm rays, and coax the flowers to bloom and the little children to play. For most of Gwangcheon’s townsfolk, they could still have summer, but for Lee Jihoon, sitting in the back of an ambulance, staring at the blood covering his trembling hands, summer had become nothing but a fleeting memory of horror.

In which a dog that weeps after it bites is no better than a dog that doesn't, but a man who weeps, with the blood of his monster on his hands, can be under the right reasons, and with the right people surrounding him.

    Summary

Wonwoo was tempted to say that he needed help, and perhaps he should’ve told Jeonghan he wasn’t feeling well- maybe then, he would’ve been whisked to the company clinic, and not standing over a stranger, whose face had become unrecognizable after he bludgeoned him to nothing but a wheezing and twitching mess; perhaps then, he wouldn’t be looking at his blood-stained hands as his soul sung at the familiar smell of blood and adrenaline.

The rush, the tang of copper, and the smell of dread was so sharp in the air that it nearly shriveled his lungs. He didn’t intend to throw himself out of the loop that day, yet, there he was, basking in the grim and haunting familiarity of horror, standing over a man- or at least, what was once considered a man before blood clotted beneath its skin, and before purples and red bloomed on its forehead.

Something inside him had woken up. And it felt like he was himself again.

In which a tormented soul, burdened by memories, discovers that moving on from the past doesn't mean forgetting— and that letting go, although painful, is just another form of loving.
