Louis is just zipping back up when the door swings open with a swell of noise and someone shuffles up next to him, shoes tapping loudly against the tile floor. Louis turns to see who’s walked in and just violated the code of the men’s toilet by taking the urinal next to him and is met with wide, green eyes and red lips stretched into a brilliant smile.
“Happy new year,” the guy grins, shaking long, curly hair away from his face. “You look sharp. Sorry, do you mind holding this for a minute? I don’t really have any place to keep it and it’s kind of a hassle, getting out of these things. Don’t want it to fall in.”
He indicates his legs with the hand clutching a pale pink phone, and Louis’ gaze drops. Speechless, Louis takes the phone, eyes locked on the guy’s legs. His gorgeous legs, clad only in a pair of black thigh-highs held up by a silky black garter belt.

There’s really no reason that he should feel compelled to stare into the audience as frequently as he is, but he can’t help it. This boy is a nuisance. And he’s loud. Even from basketball court with nine other players running by him, shoes squeaking on the shiny hardwood floor, and thousands of cheering college students, Harry can hear this boy nearly shrieking, his laugh more like a cackle than anything.

“I’m sorry, you can’t make fun of me until I at least know your name.” Harry says pouting, sitting down in the armchair next to Louis. From this angle Louis can see his bottom lip jutting out. It’s plump and just the right shade of pink, darkened slightly in the middle by the way he had been biting it earlier. Louis subconsciously bites down on his own lip, hoping that maybe his own lips will turn the same shade.
Wait what?
Louis can’t be having weird thoughts about a quirky man he’s just met in a donut shop of all places.
Louis breaks free from his thoughts when he realizes Harry is looking at him expectantly. “I’m Louis.” He pauses before continuing, licking his lips and cocking an eyebrow. “So, now I’ve got a free pass?”
(Or the one where Harry works for a donut shop and Louis has a dislike for donuts and most everything about Dallas, TX in general. Harry is about to change all of that.)

Summary
It's why Harry loves assignments with Louis; they're thrilling in a way. It's like he never rests. He's this animated, gorgeous guy who's all over the place and Harry actually has to work hard just to catch up to him.
It kind of reminds him of trying to stalk a predator stalking its prey, with his old 70-300 mm lens. Only the predator is a cheeky arsehole. "Come along Harold, I know you usually wait for your zebras to pose for you but here you've got to think on your feet," Louis yelled one time, before disappearing to interview Detective Payne. Never mind the fact Harry was slow in the first place because of Louis' tight jeans.
Or, the AU where Louis' the best police reporter in the country, Harry's the new photographer who is more used to penguins than human subjects, and also there are superheroes.

Strawberry milk layers their upper lips, and they giggle and lick it off of each other. They taste it in each others mouths when they kiss; it's on their tongues, and filling their tummies. There are seven cartoons in the fridge, with 1 out that they keep pouring into shot glasses. They give each other a ‘cheers!’ and tip it down their throats. Instead of burning their mouths, it wipes away the sting that is already inside of them.
(Harry still has days when he needs to feel good on the inside. Louis can see it in his eyes, and on these days, Louis needs it too. Maybe just as much.)
or the strawberry milk sequel; where harry still needs help, louis' trying to give it to him, liam rents a van, zayns a bit protective of his best mate, and nialls there to tie it all together.
