In this fic, Voldemort and his Death Eaters aren’t simpletons making elementary mistakes, and our villain will eventually put up a show that will justify why people were afraid to utter his name. The trio will have their work cut out for them.
Also, I can't recommend Fate by TrueSpartan enough. Choices by Random Fruitcake was great too. A slightly different but an equally engaging work is Waking Up by Hillnerd.

He was just going on with his day, getting ignored by his relatives and prepared to do a long list of chores when two stranger men show up. They take him away and Harry learns what a real bed feels like, what unconditional love feels like. Remus Lupin is his new guardian and reminds him everyday how much he cares for him.
Months later, he starts his first year at Hogwarts where he’s sorted into Slytherin with his two new friends while making new friends. He thinks it’s going to be just as easy as home but Harry never seemed to have the best luck.
