Ajax had a soulmate mark, just like about half the population of Teyvat did.
If Ajax ever found his soulmate, he would pretend to be normal for them. He would observe from afar if possible, and make sure nothing happened to them. That no ailments ever came to them. That they never came to lack anything.
That was the plan. Or, at least, it had been, until the Tsaritsa requested an audience with him alone and asked to see his mark.“Tartaglia,” she began, serious. “That is Morax, the Geo Archon.”

Ajax had to resist a snort- Rosalyne was anything other than a “lady." He’d need to hold back any of his comments towards her for at least a week in thanks for securing this catch. What a gentleman. ‘Yeah, same here- say, are you always going to wear your helmet like that?’
‘...When I am on duty, yes. This is the proper way, after all,’ came Capitanos response, and Ajax cursed in his head. Damn, he’d never get a chance to see what’s under, huh?
He tutted (a habit stolen from his sister), smirking. ‘What a shame. I’d love to see what’s underneath.’
Okay, maybe a bit too forward… but the knight chuckled.

Morax, The God of Contracts who rules over Liyue, just wants to be Zhongli, a Funeral Parlour Consultant. Unless there is true threat to his land and people, he isn’t interested in getting involved in trivial matters with the other Archons.
The quiet and mundane life he has created for himself is interrupted when a young man named Ajax knocks on his door. Ajax’s disability not quickly spotted, it makes Zhongli want to get to know the man’s story. But Zhongli’s futile attempts to ignore his Archon counterparts might just land him in hot water.‘Gods.. Who is this?
The deep rumbling inside his body stirs again, this time, not from displeasure. A tall, young man with auburn hair stands with a bright smile on his face. Zhongli’s eyes quickly gaze over him. Without truly realising it, he hasn’t in fact said anything in response.
A slap to his arm from Hu Tao shakes him out of his mind.
“Oh.” He then coughs into fist lightly. “My apologies, did you say you were here for me?” Zhongli asks politely.
The man smiles, “If you are Mister Zhongli, then yes, I am.”
