Summary
Dennis grows up in a homophobic household and eventually decides to run away to build a life where he can be himself. He moves to Virginia, supporting himself by working as both a bartender and a barista while figuring out his future. Determined to be more, he applies to medical school in Philadelphia and earns a full-ride scholarship. Over the next eight years, he studies relentlessly, proving his dedication. After graduating, he begins his internship at the Pitt, where he gains a friends and a boyfriend.
