Nico’s nightmare starts how it always does.
Darkness. A never ending darkness. It’s quiet yet so, so loud in a way that’s suffocating. It’s vast yet so close it’s claustrophobic. It’s empty in an eerie kind of way, like something could pounce at any moment. And the most prominent thing about this place is the suspense. The feeling that something’s going to happen, don’t know how or when, but something is going to happen. It’s the kind of suspense you can feel weighing in your chest as you’re waiting, and waiting, and waiting.
Or, Nico desperately needs a hug and Will is there to give him one.

Then she smirks, like she can’t help herself, “So,” she says, too casually to be casual, “how’s your dating life, Lance?”
Lance snorts, the sound quick and amused, like the question itself is ridiculous. “Pretty non-existent.”
“Hm.” Pidge doesn’t look at him. “Thrilling.” There’s another pause. “Keith?”
Keith lifts a hand vaguely, the one not currently holding his drink, waving it off without much thought. “Same.”
Pidge finally turns her head again. Just stares at them. Then rolls her eyes so hard it’s almost audible. “I wonder why that is.”
