Akira had been too busy remembering the ache in his shoulder blades as he was pressed into the hood of a police car. The nights he spent at home in his bedroom, out of sight of his family's guests, hungry. The steel bars of a holding cell, handcuffs cutting into tender wrists. The reminders from the woman that was supposed to protect him that he wasn't worth her time. The shake in the voice of someone he'd tried to defend as she testified against him. The disdain of a parent. The glint of yellow sunglasses. A mother who would never care. A man who would never be punished.
The justice that would never be his.
That night, when Akira visited Mementos, Arsene would not come.
