Nova and Victor were childhood friends, but got separated as they grew older. For a while now, nova has been popular, and Victor has been a quiet art student that sort of faded into the background. But when they get to high school and he suddenly starts to be more comfortable and him himself, and nova isn’t the only one noticing him anymore, will old feelings resurface, and explanations finally be given?

Now, both of them 16-years-old, they both sneak out of their respective towns. Victor, wanting to see the sun before it's too late, leaves Shadyside. Nova, yearning to see the stars before she becomes the next commander, sneaks out of Sunnyside. They run into each other, and things... spiral from there.

He recruits the help of his fellow vampires, and he even goes to find Nova for her help.
