It was heavy cream paper, sealed with black wax stamped in a crest Enid didn’t recognise. Her name was written across the front in a precise, old-fashioned hand: Enid Sinclair.
Enid flopped onto her bed, tore it open, and unfolded the sheet inside. The first line made her bark out a laugh.
“Obituary: Enid Sinclair, survived by excessive glitter and poor taste.”

Caitlyn panicked, feeling extraordinarily unprepared having been thrust into her new position without so much as even a handbook to consult. What were the formalities? What was she supposed to respond with? Where was the damn push to talk button…
“Hellooo? I said Houston, do you copy?”
Caitlyn fiddled with her headset, having finally found the green button on the side and hastily letting out a rather breathless reply. “Um, yes. Hello? This is Houston. I copy.”
There was a long pause in which Caitlyn sat twiddling her thumbs, anxiety pushing the frantic pulse of her heartbeat through her eardrums. Was that wrong? Did she already fuck up? She took a steady deep breath, finger hovering over the talk button until the familiar voice of the astronaut came through her headset once more.
“Damn, Houston. I didn’t expect you to sound so sexy.”
OR
Caitlyn has been assigned as the personal capcom to one of the astronauts currently on a year long expedition at the international space station. Cue long months of pining and desperate longing.

She had tried, for so many years, to get back in contact with her, to no avail. Asami had changed schools and then gone to a different college entirely. Korra had cried for so long that she was still crying when Rangi walked into her life and tried to pick up the pieces.
A heartbroken Korra is forced to face the demons of her past when an old friend comes back into her life. Meanwhile, her roommate Rangi meets a girl at a bar and wants to open her heart up to her but she doesn't know how. Together, maybe the two of them can figure out how to navigate love and heartbreak. Everybody needs a friend, right?

“What happened between you and Rangi?” Yun lay stretched out on his back, arms under his head. “Caught her crying at the table when you left. Did you two fight or something?”
A furrow deepened between Kyoshi’s brows at that, her brush strokes flying in wide, erratic swathes across the page. “We’re not friends anymore,” she said eventually. Yun rolled over onto his stomach to regard her with open surprise.
The tip of her sleeve got caught in the ink-pot, pigment seeping into the threadwork like tar; she turned her face away from him for a closer look, but he caught a glimpse of her tear-stained face all the same. “We aren’t good for each other,” she said softly, and her voice broke. “It took us a while to realize that.”
Or, alternatively:
The one where Kyoshi works herself into a tremendous jealous fit because she thinks she isn’t good enough for Rangi; Rangi suffers through a crippling bout of passive-aggressive, sapphic insecurity because she thinks she isn’t good enough for Kyoshi; and Yun all but flings himself into a screaming, root-pulling paroxysm because they’re both being insufferable.

Luz’s hands let go of hers. The waves aren’t very strong, but Amity holds her by the waist anyway so that they don’t get separated by the gentle lull of the sea, and for no other reason at all. Luz is very close, her smile turns a little shy, and the hot sun brings warmth to her cheeks.

While stuck in the Human Realm, Camila takes her flock of children to the beach where Luz and Amity get to act like the lovey-dovey couple they are as they swim together and maybe even kiss, now and then. Years later, Amity organizes the same trip with everyone for Luz.
