Summary
“Don’t worry, Papa’ll move the offending light out of the room Jackie.” Remy murmured as he walked over to his phone and picked it up. 6 missed calls from Logan, and 3 from the same unknown number. His guess was that Logan had tried to call from his husband's phone. There was a pang of guilt as he saw a text message come in.
You don’t answer my next to calls and I will drive my ass out there Gumbo.
“Damn feral.” Remy muttered, walking to the other side of the bed as his phone started ringing once more. He tucked Vinny in with Jacqueline, who was pouting at him. “Get some sleep, Jackie. You too, Vinny. Papa’s going to step out of the room.” He was only so thankful that his kids didn’t need him in the room to sleep anymore.
He stepped out of the room, waiting for the second call to come in, and when it did, he answered.

Summary
Life never waited for anyone. Remy LeBeau learned that young. It didn’t pause for you to find your footing or catch your breath. It moved like a river, and you either swam or drowned.
It didn’t wait when Rogue died, stolen from him and from their infant daughter. Time kept going. Irene grew, and Remy did his best to keep her above the current.
He could let himself sink, but he refused to drag their daughter down with him. She was the last piece of Rogue that still breathed and laughed, and he held on to that with everything he had.
