And the best scent blockers the market has to offer, all to hide his true nature. As far as anyone is concerned, he's for all intents and purposes, a beta.
Until Victor and Logan join the team. Wade tries to befriend them, without much luck. It doesn't stop Logan from staring at him weirdly all the time. Looking at Wade like a puzzle he can't quite figure out.

“Jesus, baby. You like all that about me?” Wade looks like he’s the cat that got the canary, but beneath that Logan can hear the vulnerability in his tone, the little moment of hesitation, can feel the way the rhythm of his fingers falters for a second.
Logan can’t help himself. He knows he shouldn’t say it, knows he should stuff it down, knows from 200 years of experience that admitting he loves something only ever ruins it, but he feels so drunk on pleasure, high on the stretch of Wade’s fingers in him, on the flush that spreads from Wade’s cheeks all the way down his chest, that he doesn’t know how to keep it inside. He leans over Wade and says, low and clear, so he can’t miss a single word –
“I fucking love it.”
OR: Logan gets fed up with Wade making jokes about being ugly and they fuck about it. With a hefty helping of Logan angst, too, of course.

“How many times have we had this conversation?” Logan asks, rubbing a hand over his eyes.
Too fucking many, Wade thinks. The table is cool against his skin, and the fork embedded in his hand throbs with a pulsing heat. He thinks he might just stay here for a while, see how the universe kills him like this. Knowing his luck, someone would walk right up and take Logan’s head off, and then he’d have to watch him die, again.
Wade loves movies that fuck with time – Days of Future Past is genuinely his favourite X-Men film – but God did it fucking suck to live through one.

Summary
Logan has been working at the school with these alternate X-Men for a bit, after taking some time to adjust to his new life in this universe.
Meanwhile, he and Wade have been juggling a sort of 'friends with benefits' situation while refusing to communicate any more romantic feelings they might have for each other.
But when Logan and Wade find that they've been somehow been transported back in time to right before the X-Men have to deal with Colonel Stryker, they find they might not be able to avoid the 'feelings' conversation forever.
