Summary
Ava’s always been really good at falling.
Whether that be off of a chair, ladder, the godforsaken invention that was the RipStik (how anyone managed to ride those things would forever remain a mystery to her) or even in love with her best friend, she’s always excelled at it.
So yes, she is excellent at falling. Problem is, she still hasn’t really worked out how to stop. Which would be really helpful right about now, she thinks, as she stares down at the undeniable wedding invitation in her hand. Because apparently, her ex best friend is getting married. You know, the one she never did quite figure out how to stop falling for.
This skill deficiency, as it turns out, will inevitably be her downfall. Pun intended.

Beatrice set a hand against the headboard of her bed, hips tilting for a more relaxed stance. “Don’t worry about the money. I’m not in it to get paid.”
