Summary
Enid was afraid, and exhausted, and grieving, and beneath all of it, she was oriented toward Wednesday with a constancy that defied every rational explanation Wednesday had ever constructed to contain what existed between them.
I hope she's safe, the feeling said, in the wordless vocabulary of a mind that was struggling to form coherent sentences. I hope she doesn't come looking for me. I hope she does.
I hope she knows.

Summary
Her gaze landed and held. Dark eyes met blue across sixty feet of crowd and candlelight, and her chest locked—a sudden, airless stillness behind her ribs, as if her body had forgotten what came next.
Enid couldn't have said what she saw in that face. Nothing moved; nothing softened or sharpened or changed. But she felt seen in a way that made her skin prickle, as if the girl in black had read something written on Enid's body that Enid herself hadn't known was there.
[Or, in April 1912, Enid Sinclair, a girl trapped in a life chosen for her by her mother, and Wednesday Addams, the heir to the most powerful family in America, cross paths at a gala in Southampton.]

Summary
"Who'd you pick instead?"
"Oh." Enid reached for her water glass, took a sip, and set it back down with a little flourish, because this was, genuinely, one of the more satisfying reveals of her life. "Wednesday."
Yoko did not move.
For a second Enid thought maybe she'd mumbled it, or maybe the dining hall noise had swallowed it, so she leaned forward and clarified, "Wednesday. Addams. My roommate."
"Enid."
"What?"
"This is worse."
"How is it worse."
"It's a million times worse. For you. For her. And for me, because I have to watch it."Or,
Enid fake dates Wednesday to get back at Bruno and gets the rudest awakening of her little comphet life. -

Summary
Wednesday Addams would rather face a thousand Hydes than admit she's falling for her sunshine roommate—so when Tyler Galpin escapes with Enid's name on his lips, she does what any rational psychopath would do: breaks Enid's heart to save her life. But with her psychic visions mysteriously blocked and new horrors stalking Nevermore's halls, Wednesday discovers that pushing away the girl who makes her feel human might be the deadliest mistake she's ever made.
