The door crashed to the floor.
Inside, were three kids. A pink-haired girl stood in front, two boys behind her, and her arms out as if to shield them. For a second, all of them shared the same expression, something resembling a deer in the headlights. Then, another one came running, a little girl with bright blue hair tripping over her bag as she barreled into the pink-haired girl, almost knocking her off her feet and breaking the awkward eye contact she and Jayce were sharing. He glanced down, and inhaled sharply. From the girl’s bag a soft blue glow had caught his eye.
Hex Crystals.
Shit.Or, where Jayce knocks his door down a little faster, and somehow this changes everything... well, almost everything

He had always been able to hear the music. It came from everything that was alive. Each person had their own instruments, their own tune, their own words. So did every tree, every animal, the ground itself. He’d found out when he was very young that the music wasn’t just about who a person was. It also told you truths about what they were feeling.
