If Kyoko were to shift her eyes a little to the left, they’d come into focus, the two of them. And she’d see her father smiling and laughing along with a boy he’s known for a couple hours. If he’d also planned, while he was at it, on saying hello to his own daughter that he abandoned a decade ago, he certainly is in no rush.
But that’s fine, Kyoko supposes. Neither is she.
