Vox didn’t miss the way Val twitched defensively. His smile widened and he manifested himself suddenly in front of the other, mere centimeters away. Valentino’s eyes squinted and, instinctively, he squared his shoulders, his neck ruff puffing. Vox couldn’t help the crazed smile from overtaking his screen. Did he look threatening enough that Val was doubting him?
