The nights in Atlas were long and cold, permeated by a quiet that almost made the young Huntsmen and Huntresses that stood on watch wish for an attack just to pass the time. It was a night like this when Ruby Rose, bundled in her trademark red cloak and silhouetted against the cold sky, found herself watching a small green dot loiter in the distance. Noticing the emerald beacon change vector and begin increasing in size, Ruby realized that it might not take a Grimm incursion to help pass the time.
Maybe some company would suffice.

Summary
It's almost your average small-town love story. One girl is a good-hearted mechanic with a talent for fixing anything she touches and a burning desire to do the right thing. The other girl is a sweet but fierce adventurer with a past she's trying to get away from. There's a nebulous profit-hungry corporation trying to mess up their lives, but with the power of ingenious thinking and love, Ruby and Penny will overcome them.
There is one small difference from the rest of those small-town love stories, though: Penny is a sentient machine, who would very much like a body shaped like a human, but all she's got at the moment is a 1956 Volkswagen Beetle. It's not like Ruby minds, though!

Summary
Penny Polendina has an airtight plan to make sure she can escape from Ironwood's control and stay at Beacon. Ruby Rose will do anything to help Penny. It's a match made in heaven, because Penny's plan to get a Vale citizenship is to get married. Good thing it's just a marriage of convenience and there won't have to be any complicated and messy romantic feelings involved!
Wait, no. This is Ruby and Penny. They're actually falling in love.
