Summary
Katara has one year. One year of freedom in Republic City before she becomes some important man's wife, and if life has taught her anything, it's that powerful men don't see women as people. So the plan is simple: keep her head down, study a subject she never liked, survive the world's most boring internship.
Aang has one day. One day off from being the Avatar, the Last Airbender, the martyr carrying an entire nation's future on his back. The man the whole world is hoping to see succeed and expecting to watch fail. His agenda is straightforward: put on a headband, borrow an old friend's name, and enter the world he’s built as someone completely different.
What neither of them expects, however, is to find the one person carrying the same weight. Someone hiding just as much behind their haunted gaze. Someone running from a future they never chose.
