After every practice session where he re-bleeds through the bandaids, Andrew offers up his palm to Fletcher. It’s their routine. Sitting side by side on the couch, Fletcher takes Andrew’s hands and peels off the blood-soaked bandaids from them, one by one.
Fletcher then presses his fingers onto the wounds. Not just a brush of the fingertips on the scabbed-over surface, but a proper press, digging his fingernails inside.
