Those are some of the first words Ajax, starving college student extraordinaire, has the misfortune of hearing upon waking up in a brave new world from what he's fairly sure is a very fatal accident involving water and a shit ton of electricity.
Okay, so he's not dead. That's good. But what's this about him being stuck playing the character Tartaglia? Tartaglia, as in the no-good, one-dimensional, cartoonish villain who met his untimely, gruesome death in the first act of the original game?
Forget this. Like hell Ajax is going to share that fate.
And so begins one man's journey to save himself from his awful destiny.

I can't believe it's over. I might have cried a little. This one is special alright. I started reading in 2021. This is like THE GENSHIN fanfic in my mind. Like wow. It was still peak zc era when this started and it was just one of the random ones I opened and left in my tabs for MONTHS before starting it. I almost didn't start it!!! I think k it was fate that brought me to it and I'll cherish it like nothing else.its really special. -

Childe laughed awkwardly as he looked back down at his employee, rubbing the back of his neck as though he was just caught red-handed with a hand in the cookie jar,
“They just so happened to have no room for me,” he admitted, “but I’ll find something so you don’t have to worry.” A genuine smile at the girl was enough for her to sigh in defeat this time, as much as she wanted to insist he takes her room and she shares with one of the others, Ekaterina’s aware her boss is one stubborn ass.
OR,
In which Childe has gay panic because an explosion destroyed the Northland bank and so he shares an apartment (and bed) with Zhongli. They have to find the culprit! But the consultant is just so... distracting.

Summary
After the Osial incident, Childe becomes a prisoner of the Qixing and quickly discovers that the people of Liyue do not tolerate foreign spies almost destroying their city. Zhongli attempts to negotiate his freedom but may have to resort to more drastic measures as Childe slowly unravels in their hands.
Forced to examine his past, Childe begins to question his motivations and purpose. Who is he, really? How can he face everything he’s done after the delicate lies he’s weaved about who he is are stripped away? The masks of cruel murderer and loving brother within him battle for dominance, but which is the true him?
The only source of comfort he has is Zhongli, who complicates things in his own way….Series
