Summary
A bright flash of light cuts Shane’s sleepy contemplations. Deafening thunder is quick to follow and the tremble against his body grows harder to ignore. Ilya whispers something against his shoulder, “Господи”, Shane thinks he hears, he knows it literally means “God”, but by now he is aware it is used more like “Holy fuck”, really.
Shane is surprised to find out that his big strong Russian man doesn't care for thunderstorms.

He just had to have his fatal accident on a day that would feel like a personal mockery. The weather couldn’t even spare him one dark cloud, the flowers couldn’t wilt out of courtesy, and out of all possible days, he’ll be remembered as that guy who died on a Wednesday, the most insignificant day of the week, if he would be remembered at all, that is; unremarkable, just like the rest of his life.
Sometimes death is only the beginning.

After the small hesitation, Tighnari’s look is the one of realization, and his ears are folded backwards peacefully. He closes his eyes into little half-crescents, and happily chimes, “Yes! I would love to!” as enthusiastic as he can get, and Cyno’s brain is on the receiving end of oxygen once more.

“Are you suggesting that your kid isn't home and I should stay over?” she winks, playfully.
“Our old and wise equivalent of ‘my parents aren’t home’, I suppose?” Mashiro feels a familiar wave of heat running through her; she had no plans for such activities tonight, but… To Saeko, she could never say no.
“Old and wise? Please, we are only one of those things”, unhurried, Saeko puts her coat back onto the hanger, and comes closer.
“I’d rather not know which, then”, Mashiro barely manages to whisper before her best friend’s lips catch hers, and she melts much like the remaining snowflakes in the younger woman’s bright hair.
They’ve known each other for over ten years, they’ve been at it for most of them.

Summary
Centuries spent without as much as remembering my own birthday, but for my Mina it’s different, I have to keep a constant reminder that the girl grew up relatively normal. I love it when traditions long forgotten arise anew with her around – be it decorating the castle for Christmas, having friends and sometimes family over for the holidays, exchanging presents and sweet words written in cursive on handmade cards; all are precious for her, and so they manage to touch me as well.
So for the anniversary of the most important date, the one that brought Mina into my life, I wanted to do something extra special.
Just two girls, and their happily ever after.

“Come on. It’s me. We’ve known each other for more than two years now.”
“As friends, sure. The touching is new—”
“Is it, though?”
“—okay, not new, but that, by the way, was never not embarrassing either! Also! This touching you are doing now feels more… deliberate.”
“Deliberately romantic, you mean?” That got him a push from Haruki, who did not seem to appreciate the way Akihiko’s lips refused to stop smiling.
“Listen, you. You were even the university’s resident hot guy. You try liking you for years, see what it’s like.”
Akihiko likes to fluster Haruki.

Summary
You don’t wake up and decide you like a guy like Haruki, and then just go for it. Not after what Akihiko did. Haruki, after all, was a person you can easily take for granted, and Akihiko was determined not to do any more of that than he already did.
AKA the five times Akihiko didn't confess to Haruki, and the one time he (accidentally) did.

And if Haruki were to analyze himself then, really take a moment to look deep within he might perhaps have come to the conclusion that hey, maybe. Maybe he could have seen this coming. Maybe. But Haruki is not one for deep introspection. So, he never did, and he never figured it out. Which could have gone swimmingly for him, were it not for the moment that realization hit him like a bag of bricks to the face.
