Summary
Then, The King gasped. This was unusual, and even more unusual, rather than informing the women of the contents he held the parchment out to his wife and looked directly at Mary. Queen Charlotte then scanned the letter, her brow furrowing before her gaze also turned toward Mary.
“May I ask what the letter says?” Mary asked, tentatively. She did not wish to overstep, but based on their reactions it seemed quite apparent that the letter had something to do with her.
Charlotte turned to Collin, and he nodded. “King William of Netherfield is asking… for your hand.”
Mary’s mother gasped, “In marriage?”
Charlotte scowled, “Yes, in marriage. Obviously.”
The Queen and Queen Dowager were still speaking, but Mary was no longer listening. She must not have heard correctly, must have imagined Charlotte saying that King William wanted to marry her. It was inconceivable.
“Forgive me,” Mary interrupted, something she scarcely did, “King William has asked for my hand?”
“That is correct,” Collin responded, seeming pained. It was the first words he’d spoken since receiving the letter.
“You must accept,” her mother emphasized, “It could turn into a political divide if you do not.”

Summary
Mary Bennet could be described with three words: intelligent, agreeable, and careful. She was also a damn good pianist, having dedicated her entire life to the study of the craft. As the only pianist for the London Symphony Orchestra, she was accomplished. Happy.
Right...?

Thomas Hayward, famous published poet, had everything he'd ever wanted. He worked hard for the fancy flat and the fancy clothes. Never in his life had he ran out of things to say, until too many years seemed to cause his well to run dry. That is until the most beautiful pianist steps on stage... -

Summary
It wasn’t as if Mary was moving to another country, London was barely an hour and a half drive from her childhood home. It would be a bit longer now that her mother was moving into Jane’s guest house, but even then it really shouldn’t have been such a big deal. It wasn’t like her mother liked her very much anyway.
Mary sighed again, and her uncle looked into the rearview mirror to ask “You alright back there?”
There was concern in his eyes, something she never seemed to find when it came to her mother. They looked alike, but in moments like this it was obvious how different they were.
“Yes, just nervous.” Mary responded.
Her aunt reached back from the passenger side to give her hand a tight squeeze.
“It’s normal to be nervous, Mary.” She smiled, “But trust me, you’ll thrive here.

Summary
Mary Bennett knew what was to happen on her wedding night. Or, more accurately, she sort of knew what was to happen on her wedding night. There were many books hidden under her bed, both in childhood and adulthood, that briefly mentioned the logistics of the activities that would occur, but only in the briefest, most clinical sense.
To be completely frank, she was unsure what the appeal was. Besides, it is not as if she thought she would ever have the opportunity to experience said activities. The only additional information she was provided had come from her sisters, and they all had different ideas of whether or not wifely duties were… pleasurable. And even Lizzie, who had expressed how wonderful her wedding night had been, never went into great detail about what had made it so wonderful.
Now, only a day before her wedding, Mary was more confused than she had ever been. For the first time ever, she had the realization that she would be acting out the intimate details she had read about, not just reading them.-
Or: I thought it would be nice if Mary learned the appeal of intimacy with her husband while he reads a particularly... spicy poem aloud to her.

Summary
Logan
Relentless. That was the first word that came to mind when Logan thought about the builder’s flirtations over the past few months. But no… not relentless. More like… persistent. The first time he’d actually spoken to her, she said, “I fell in love with you at first sight.” He was, of course, taken aback considering the circumstances of the entire encounter, along with the fact that the only other time they’d laid eyes on each other was after the water tower incident. He was also aware that she was joking… teasing him.
Hannah
She’d given up. What else was she supposed to do? It had been months, and she couldn’t keep casually flirting with Logan while he made her heart clench every single time she saw him.
AKA I wanted to do a scene rewrite and got very carried away :P

Summary
Alec grimaces, arms crossed over his chest. “I’m your guardian angel and I’m here to help you find love.”
“Go away,” Magnus says.
The grimace slides off Alec’s face and he blinks his wide doe eyes, startled.
He is lovely, Magnus thinks, for a creepy stranger that breaks into semi-innocent men’s apartments and sleeps next to them like a freak.
“Can’t do that,” Alec insists. “You asked, we answered. I’ve been assigned to stay here until you find eternal bliss in the loving arms of another.”
“So, you’re Cupid?”
“Do I look like a chubby baby to you?” Alec asks, deeply unimpressed.
