Friendship was an odd concept for Spencer. He knew the members of his team were his friends - sometimes he felt they were more, that they were family, but after Gideon and Elle he feared growing too fond of them, and maybe it was too late for it. With Leila it was different: she never asked about his job, despite knowing what he did (he’d told her that first night, when he’d talked about Gideon and the rest of his team), and she managed to never ask questions that made him uncomfortable. She was an easy person to be around, and her smile was contagious, warm.
