    Summary

    Murdoc Niccals is finally free.

After months in Wormwood Scrubs, he expects a grand return, a hero’s welcome—only to find himself stranded, alone, and forced to crawl back to the band on his own. He seethes that 2D has moved on without him, but his perspective shifts when he finally sits down and listens to the album written without him.

    Summary

Murdoc’s lost everything. But that doesn’t mean he can’t build what he wants.

A new home— pink, rotting, synthetic.
A new Noodle — artificial, loyal, weaponized.
And a new 2D — beautiful, obedient, and made to love him.

But things get more complicated when the real 2D is dragged to Plastic Beach--a paradise already beginning to rot.

    Summary

Noodle cuts him off before his guilt can eat him alive.
“You’re angry with him. It’s okay.”
    Am I? he thinks.
    “I am,” he says.

When Murdoc is arrested at the end of the Humanz tour, 2-D thinks he can handle it. In fact, he's ready for it. Life without Murdoc is going to be great.

... Except it's not, and soon it becomes clear that feelings are much more complicated than the three of them could ever have imagined. Will the arrival of Murdoc's replacement prove to be a good thing, or will it tear them apart even more?
