Summary

Told from Helaena’s point of view, this canon divergence fic follows an aged-up Helaena and Aegon during their first year of marriage, focusing on the arrival of their twins. The story then travels beyond the initial year, exploring an alternative Dance of the Dragons and the effects of Aegon’s recovery from alcoholism. In addition, we see the impact of Aemond’s complicated feelings towards his various family members on the war's outcome.
Featuring; a self-assured, dreamer Helaena with higher agency than in the show, a more book-accurate Aegon who respects his wife and adores his children, with no rape or infidelity storylines, and a lovelorn, reactive Aemond who often struggles with unrequited feelings for Helaena.

Praying to the gods, old and new, to release him from his suffering, Aegon is sent back to the morning of his coronation. He is still weak, he still does not know how to rule. But he has one weapon: information. And with information, comes power. He now knows how to learn.
Being burned and usurped by his brother has left him with no love or patience to spare, for anyone. Everyone he thought he could trust betrayed him, and so he will pay their cruelty twice in turn.

Copium to do Aegon justice after the season 2 finale. Merciless Aegon who slowly grows into a powerhouse of a King, and Helaena into a proper queen. Team Black is treated with due respect. Don't think the war will be easy for Aegon at all just because he was sent back in time (after S2E6).
