Bellamy had been trapped in this place for over two years. He can’t even count how many cellmates he lost over that time, how many times he had to meet a new voice from a person he would never see… And, almost every time, he found himself telling them a story to help calm them down, to reassure them that everything was going to be okay, even when he knew it would never be okay. Clarke had been no different than the others until this moment.
She was the first one to ever try to comfort him in return. So, he whispered, “Okay,” and pressed his ear to the corner.
Modern AU loosely inspired by The OA where Clarke finds herself abducted and caged with four strangers as they all struggle to make sense of their captor's experiments.

Summary
Clarke Griffin is a Soul Keeper – which is really just a fancy word for someone who helps souls pass from this world to whatever’s next when people die. She’s been doing it for a century and a half by now and she likes it. She’s gotten to see a lot of the world and made some amazing friends along the way. All in all, it’s been a pretty good life.
She’s also learned that getting involved with Norms – people who aren’t Soul Keepers and who are going to (grow old and) die at some point, unlike her – is not a good idea, despite what Raven keeps telling her.
So when a stranger pulls her out of the way of an oncoming cab on a New York street and it feels like time stops and lightning strikes all at once when she meets his eyes, she quickly writes it off. He’s not a Keeper, so he’s off limits.
But then they run into each other again two days later, and she starts to waver… until she sees his Number – 268, meaning he has less than nine months to live.
She makes up her mind to stay away from him, despite the feelings that have already started growing inside her.

“It’s not my problem you’re so busy flirting with anything with a pulse, you forgot how to be a good bartender,” Clarke snapped back and he scoffed. She stepped closer, “Oh I’m sorry, did I hit a nerve? Do you not flirt with every girl who comes in here?”
He chuckled humourlessly and slammed her drink down on the bar, “All except you, Princess.”
After Bellamy left the military, all he wanted was a quiet life, working in his best friend's bar and hanging out with 'the delinquents'. Then one day, Jasper brings in a new addition - Clarke - who he's apparently known since college, and Bellamy immediately dislikes her.
