A year after the Riddler’s attack on Gotham, Batman struggles to repair a city fractured and drowning in crime. But when rumors spread through Gotham’s criminal underworld about an alien hero in Metropolis—an otherworldly figure with god-like powers who’s changing the course of history—Bruce can't help but be skeptical. But his concerns are confirmed when this so-called "Superman," arrives in Gotham one night during his patrol, bringing with him a wave of chaos that threatens to disrupt the fragile balance he has fought so hard to maintain.
Clark had heard about Gotham City when he first arrived at Metropolis—a lawless, crime-ridden city plagued with corruption—but he had never felt the need to enter its borders. That is until he learns of a mysterious vigilante known as "The Batman," a figure who, like him, seeks justice for his city and its people, his curiosity gets the better of him. Drawn to the idea of meeting someone with a shared mission, Clark decides to seek out the elusive hero, after all, nothing bad can come out of it can it? But boy was he wrong.

Alfred sighed and closed the book around one finger to keep his place. "Master Bruce. Please tell me you aren't going to that horrid little club in the Narrows again."
For all that he was Batman, trained in the art of bald-faced lying, Bruce managed to shuffle his feet and twitch his eyes toward the front door suspiciously. "I'm… not going to the horrid little club in the Narrows?"
"Yet, here you are, dressed for the club," said Alfred flatly.
Fed up with Bruce's playboy act, Alfred signs him up for an exclusive dating service, hoping that he will at the very least make a friend. On the other side of the bay, Lois gifts Clark with a voucher for that very same service, insisting that he needs to move on from their mutual breakup.
Neither one of them really wants a relationship, but they do want their loved ones to be happy. So they come to a mutually beneficial agreement.
It very quickly becomes something else entirely.

Alfred hummed but said nothing. He just poured Bruce a cup of coffee from the freshly brewed pot and looked over his shoulder at the footage.
“He does have a rather nice smile, sir.”
Bruce snorted. “The devil always does.”
“The devil, really? That’s a bit of an exaggeration.”
“No, it’s a prediction. An estimation. That man, alien, he’s a ticking time bomb, Alfred. One we’ll need to know how to defuse when it comes down to it.”
“Of course, sir. And that fetching blush of his, that’s surely a countdown to detonation?”
“That will be all, Alfred.” Bruce said it like the words would work, but Alfred acquiesced—only with a sly and slight smile on his lips.
