“I know - I get I was probably overwhelming you, so I’m sorry,” Willow says. “But you know what friends do actually do?”
The mask tilts slightly.
“Um,” Caleb says eloquently. “I don’t know. Different sports teams? More sports?”
“No,” Willow says, cutting him off before he can keep on saying something depressingly out of touch. “They help each other. I’m a plant witch! And I need a bit of lungflower too, so… we can work together to find it!”
“Why would you help me?” he asks. He sounds just as cutting as ever, but… confused.
“I mean,” Willow shrugs. “You’re my friend, aren’t you?”-
Willow has had a lot of friendships go sour over the years, and there's no reason for her not to think that her somewhat complicated feelings about the newest member of her flyer derby team won't end up the same way. A mission to retrieve a rare flower with said newest member might be just what she needs to figure out if staying friends with the Emperor's right-hand man is a good idea.

"No," Hunter replies quickly - quick enough that for a second she's worried he's saying it just to make her feel better, but his eyes settle back onto the statue with a burning intensity, and his hand tightens around the egg. "But the pleasure's all yours."
"If you insist," Luz preens, and winds her arm up -
(And for a second she’s not ditching a grocery store egg at a statue that’s seen better days, she’s back in the Boiling Isles, feeling a fire glyph light up underneath her fingers, flinging shimmering fistfuls of flame into Belos’s stupid face - )
The egg smashes into the statue’s cheek with a satisfying splat.

Stede just stares at Edward for a beat, gaze flickering to ink, leather, eyes, and all back around again, and – and that was definitely something, most certainly a look. “Well,” Stede says, voice pitching high over a crack. “Do you know the bride and groom?”
“Never met them a day in my life,” Edward says. “What about you?”
Stede’s left eye twitches. “Yes. I know them.”

He’s gonna ki-” She pauses, glances quickly at Hunter with an apologetic grimace. “He’s gonna be so upset with me.” She amends.
“Oh, that’s fine. I’ll go get it for you.” Hunter scowls at his scroll. Really, these typos are starting to get on his nerves. He’ll demand another typing lesson when he gets back to the house.
He jabs at the power button—the only button he can really trust the consistency of—and marches toward the door.
“Wait, Hunter, what-?”
And he walks right out into the boiling rain.
