Gus sits in the Noceda household, curled up on Luz’s couch with a blanket around his shoulders. Willow, Amity, and Luz are in Luz’s room, getting clean, dry clothes. Hunter has not left Gus’ side since they came through the portal, and even now he sits on the couch beside him, knees pulled up to his chest and an arm thrown around Gus’ shoulders.
He doesn’t want to say anything. But he keeps seeing the face of Caleb Wittebane in his mind’s eye, and the face of Caleb Wittebane is, unfortunately, the face of Hunter, Golden Guard.

The sight of Philip’s face makes her want to scream. The sight of Caleb’s just creeps her out—it really is the spitting image of Hunter.
Speaking of the Devil, she supposes, as a certain palisman lands on her shoulder. Luz glances down at Flapjack, brows drawn. “Hey, lil’ rascal,” she says, softly. “Come to look at… him, too?”

When Eda Clawthorne finally trudged her way through the Owl House’s front door, her plans for the afternoon were simply to down a glass of apple blood, make herself lunch, and see how long she could nap before King or Luz inevitably needed her help with some quirky misadventure. Those plans most certainly did not include Hooty depositing a half-dead, very familiar teenager on the couch right as she’d been about to start on frying up something for lunch.
“Holy Titan,” she cursed, taking in the injuries that littered the Golden Guard’s prone form and the little cracked palisman in his hand. “What in the world happened?”
For the moment, at least, it seemed like lunch would have to wait.
