“Yes?” He moved his fingers against her jaw, her neck, her nose and then back to her jaw, lifting her chin before planting a soft kiss to her lips.
Could he hear her thoughts or had she been voicing his name all along? Probably the latter.
“Nothing I just… love saying your name. I love looking at you. You’re my whole world.” She couldn’t believe she was talking to him this way after so long. After all the pining, all the plans and the stuttering. He was hers and he was right in front of her.
Adrien.
“And you’re mine. I’m so happy Mari. I don’t think I’ve ever been this happy just existing.” He whispered so close to her she could feel his words against her face.

She only squeaked and fluttered her eyes at this, enjoying yet another soft kiss.
And she felt it too.
The happiness of simply existing with him.
That was the last time she saw him in person. The last time she could call him hers.
That was the day before Monarch unmasked himself as Gabriel Agreste.

Summary

The Black Cat Miraculous is sent to a supposedly perfect holder and he promises her smooth sailing from here on out, but as her own magic starts to falter, she's forced to question everything she thought she knew. Is she a responsible Guardian, or has she really been hoarding power? Is she in love with Adrien, or is she really obsessed with an illusion?

Chat Noir is absolutely insane. In general, and for Marinette Dupain-Cheng.
His thoughts keep wandering towards her, no matter what. All he wanted was to be with her. He does everything in his power to get her to want him and only him.
But, his double life and their different factors add up to the struggle of achieving his goal. As Chat Noir, he has to try keeping a discreet identity and save Paris at the same time, but as Adrien he has to follow a life of fame that keeps him away from Marinette. One things for sure; he is in the direct spotlight of Paris no matter who he is. Every time he turns his head another setback appears and he can't both be nice and put up with it all.
Everything adding up on top of each other eventually drives him to insanity. Everything seems to stack on top of his shoulders until he finally breaks.
