Summary
Wolfstar (Remus Lupin & Sirius Black) raising Harry au.
Sirius got to Harry before Hagrid, securing him with Remus before trying to exact revenge on Peter Pettigrew. However Peter fails to frame Sirius (because they weren't idiots and they used vertiaserum), and Pettigrew gets to sit in Azkaban.
Weighed down by survivors guilt, the strain of parenting, ghosts from his past and communication issues with Sirius, Remus navigates the fifteen years after 1981 only to be drawn into the second, and last war of his life.
This fic spans from 1981 to 1996, there are some time jumps but it's mainly Remus and Sirius trying to parent Harry, as well as struggling with grief and the extra attention Harry garners from being the "chosen one".
This fic does deal with grief a lot, and survivors guilt. Please, please be kind to yourself, know your limits.DISCLAIMER: I do not support J.K Rowling or ANY celebrities that were involved in the movies and have not spoken out against her. An extensive, cannon adjacent (ish) retelling of the Marauders seven years at Hogwarts and a bit beyond. Takes us from the four first meeting on the train, to the discovery for Remus’ condition, through The Prank and aftermath, and a slow burn romance for Wolfstar with about as much angst and miscommunication as you could expect from the gay son of bloodpurist assholes and the queer werewolf who doesn’t believe himself capable of being truly loved. Various Jily interludes as well, of course.

"Is he really okay?" Regulus whispered finally. So softly it was barely there.
James wasn't surprised that he had asked. The other night was different Regulus was drunk and pissed off that's why he reacted the way that he did. But right now In the dark alone and away from prying eyes, he let himself be the slightest bit vulnerable. Just the slightest.
"Yes and no," James answered honestly.
Regulus nodded, seeming to take that answer and understand it. When James thought he might leave Regulus did something surprising and sat back down again. "I didn't mean what I said the other night. I do care."
James's eyes widened shocked regulus admitted he had feelings, shocked he cared. Shocked he admitted he cared. Regulus didn’t show emotions.
OR
After Sirius leaves Regulus is forced by his family to spy on the Potter family or else they will hurt Sirius. Regulus isn’t expecting to care about the Potters and he’s certainly not expecting to start hooking up with the bane of his existence James bloody Potter but what can you do?
