"Mi Amor?"
Those lilac eyes, those irises that closely resemble flower petals, oh so mesmerizing, but there's something different about them. They don't shine the same way they do when Iso looks at him. His eyes are dull, despite their vibrant color. That bright smile he always receives whenever Gekko is with him, replaced by a neutral expression he remembers during Iso's first few weeks at Valorant Protocol.
"Iso?"
There's confusion in his expression, and Gekko doesn't like the frown he receives upon trying to reach out to him.
Remorsefully he says, "I'm sorry," as he takes a step back from him, and there's a weird pain in his eyes that matches the one Gekko's feels in his heart. "I don't... I don't remember you."

Summary
At one point in Zhao Yu's life, he never quite understood the principles and values of something as basic as love. By this, of course, he means romantic love.
He has never fully understood the concept of developing a crush on someone and the various ways someone can make you feel. Every time his nǎinai explained how when she was younger, his yéye did his best to win over her heart. He could never comprehend why someone would do everything imaginable under the sun to win over someone they barely even knew. Yet, she always told him that love isn't something you understand, it is something you feel.
Nobody had ever told him love hurts.

"Do you have any idea how badly you fucked me up? Do you have any idea how much I loved you?"
"Zhao Yu... I'm sorry I-"
"You were the first person I ever loved, and I thought that maybe, just maybe, you felt the same. But perhaps, I was the dumbass who thought what we had was mutual. Maybe to you, it was all just a game."
"No! It was never like that!"
"Then why did you make me feel like we could've been something?"
"I'm sorry... I really am. I do love you; I was just... scared."
"Of me?"
"No. Never of you. Of commitment."
