“Do you really not love me anymore?” Mike’s brows arched, pleading, thumbs pressing softly on Will’s bottom lip, parting it just enough to feel the wet heat inside. “Tell me.”
“Mike, stop. I have a boyfriend,” Will whispered. But he didn’t pull away. He stayed—staring at Mike’s mouth, wanting, aching. His tongue darted out to wet his lips, unconsciously mirroring Mike’s touch.
“That’s not what I asked.” Mike leaned in until their lips ghosted—barely touching, electric. His hands braced on the wall on either side of Will’s head. “Do you still love me?”

It’s Christmas time in Hawkins and the party is coming back together for the first time in over a year. Which means Will finally has to face what he's left behind in Hawkins, including Mike.
Meanwhile, Mike is still dealing with the aftermath of their final battle with Vecna, which has left him shattered in pieces and alone in his hometown.

In which Mike just doesn’t think it’s right that Will doesn’t get to experiment with a guy, but luckily Mike’s a guy, and a good friend, so. Featuring closet hookups, hickeys, really good cuddles in the midst of all the sexual experimentation, sneaking around, a canon-typical amount of boys crying, the Painting Lie!!!, conversations about feelings that don’t actually address any of the important feelings (until they do, and then ohh boy), and the happy ending that they goddamn deserved.
Takes place during the eighteen month time gap before they all graduate, then continues past the ending of the finale.
