Summary
Working at a cat themed café and leading a calm life filled with routine has its pros and cons — way more of the former, that should be mentioned. At the end of the day there is little to complain about, even if it gets old and not so exciting after a while. Luckily when a certain Tanaka and Sugawara move in nearby and the latter starts working at said café, things get interesting again.
But then one of the clients is found dead — murdered — at the back door and the interesting might have become too intense…

Summary
A black mass, painted like oil spills by the road; beautiful like the remains of a rainbow scarab beetle, strong and resilient despite everything. Swirls shaped like tormentous waves lashed lazily around the sterile room, knocking down and slicing any utensil it touched.
“Hikaru.” Yoshiki whispered, pitch low and trembling.
The creature stilled its movements as if it had only just perceived the human. The deafening silence was interrupted by an unfamiliarity among the familiar coldness — it chirped to Yoshiki, warily reaching its tendrils closer towards him.
[ yOshIKI? Is this. You? Not. Dream? ]
One month had passed and they hadn’t talked about it. Or, well, perhaps it was better to say that Hikaru kept trying to mention their fateful Valentine’s Day, and Yoshiki kept evading the subject.
Yoshiki struggles with how to define what they are. Hikaru thinks they don’t need to. Together, they mend one another with patience, care and lacquer powdered with gold.[Can be read as a stand-alone]
