Kojiro stiffened but said nothing.
Kaoru tipped his head back across Kojiros shoulder.
"Except for you."
Kojiro sighed and leaned back agains Kaoru's opposite shoulder. "Who were you literally just complaining about a second ago?"
Kaoru grinned back at him. "Oh, him? That's just some doppelgänger.
Kojiro raised an eyebrow.
Kaoru grabs his hand and laces their fingers together before continuing.
The tips of Kojiros ears slowly begin to turn a bright shade of red but he says nothing.
Kaoru's smile softens even more. "I'm talking about the real you idiot. The one I get to see every day after school. The one who has a smile on his face 24/7 even after he's face planted off his skateboard."
Kojiro can't help but let out a chuff of laughter.
"The moron who sticks up for those weaker than himself, even when he knows he doesn't stand a chance."
Kaoru lightly taps the side of his head against Kojiro's.
"You should bring that guy back here. I can't even begin to imagine how popular he might be in this hellhole of a school. He shows up briefly for one damn day and now everyone can't stop talking about him."
