Summary
The letter his shaking hands wrote was short, for he could barely hold the pen long enough without running to the nearest receptacle to expel something nasty. He knew what this meant, as he had spent the past few days feeding, praying, and tending to those in a nearby tenement poxed and plagued. Aziraphale could recognize the early symptoms as well as he could recognize a dead rat on the street (there were many).

Aziraphale gets the plague and dies...well temporarily. Before this though, Crowley cares for him and sits at his bedside. A beautiful hurt/comfort ensues followed by an epilogue in the present.

Summary
Crowley, on the other hand, struggled to find something to pass the time besides shouting at his houseplants, kissing Aziraphale on the cheek, watching the Lord of the Rings' extended editions, and sleeping for extended periods of time. He struggled, that is until he started cooking.
The idea was completely foreign, nearly blasphemous to him at first, for why would a demon who can count the number of times he’s eaten solid food on a bad carpenter’s fingers learn to cook? Although, as Aziraphale had reminded him, his bookshop had a cookbook section, meaning they now had a cookbook section.

But this is also the story of all the crazy people Bucky meets along the way, who help him when he’s at his lowest, point him in the right direction when he feels lost, make him laugh, grow to love him for who he is, and most importantly, give him hope when he needs it most.
It’s a long and difficult journey, as Bucky works not just to let go of his past, but to also rebuild his own identity and a future for himself. And with Sarge at his side, Bucky slowly comes to realize that not everything he once loved is lost, and if he can just have enough faith in himself and those around him, he might, just might, get his very own happy ending.
Bucky IS Sarge’s person after all. As the once abandoned puppy Bucky saved one night from freezing to death, he knows, more than anyone, just how much Bucky deserves it.
