[Messages] Goro Akechi -> Ren Amamiya
20/02/2017
Amamiya: I should have expected that you wouldn’t be here
Amamiya: that’s the price you pay when you fuck with god i guess
Amamiya: I did what you wanted. You were right, existing like that wasn’t living
Amamiya: but you’re gone now, for real
Amamiya: and this doesn’t feel like living either___

Summary
Goro Akechi was tanned flesh pulled from its resting place in the wetter countryside; guts and bile saved by the unusual properties of muddy soil. Preserved to near perfection, only for the oxygen to wither him away the moment he was freed from his sodden grave.
Seen for what he was, then gone forever.

Summary
On the morning of February 4th, most of a decade ago, Akechi wakes with a start, stares blindly up at the tiles of the ceiling without registering what he’s looking at, and says out loud, “Well, that’s embarrassing.”

Summary
“I’m really okay, Makoto,” he says. “It was just rough being with my parents. I’ll bounce back. I always do, don’t I?”
“That’s… true,” Makoto says, even if she sounds unsure of the words she’s saying. “Just… I think…”
“Whatever it is, you can say it,” Akira says.
“I think therapy might be a good idea,” Makoto says, almost in a rush.

Summary
Every previous competition had been done for the love of the game; Goro had been expecting the duel to be that way, as well, and hadn't bothered to think of anything like a prize. He certainly wasn't expecting what Akira asked for.
Joker always managed to flip his expectations on their head.

Summary
The cashier had to repeat “Sir? Your groceries?” three times for Akira to notice it was his turn. He paid swiftly, packed everything up, then considered the exit. Considered making a run for it. But before he could even walk towards it, he found Akechi’s gloved hand grasping his wrist, pressing so tightly it was almost painful.
“I’d like a word, if you don’t mind,” he said, trying to remain calm even though he was speaking through gritted teeth, as he held out his yen to the cashier with his free hand. “Outside."
Akira isn't very good at the whole playing dead thing. He's very good at the whole "killing Shido"-thing, however.
