Two years later, Steve and Dustin were struggling to survive in the new zombie-infested world when they were captured by Billy, now the head of a large and brutal group of survivors. Faced with a gun pointed to the back of Dustin's head, Steve agreed to be one of Billy's “wives” to protect his pup. The situation seemed hopeless.
Cue Eddie Munson, head of a pack that consisted of nothing but his remaining packmates from Corroded Coffin and twelve-year-old Erica Sinclair. He’d be damned if he was going to let one of his Hellfire pups rot in Billy's clutches. If that meant rescuing an omega who was a total dick to him in high school, so be it. Little did he know, that'd be the best decision of his life.

"No," Steve replied. Embarrassment at his lack of knowledge forced him to add a quick but sincere: "I'm sorry."
The stranger flicked his helmet's visor up and Steve bit hard at the inside of his lip for entirely different reasons. There was something about the man's eyes. Something about the way they flashed like steel in the murky light that pulled Steve closer to the window before he'd even noticed he was moving.

Summary
Steve wasn't okay. Some might say that wasn't unusual after last year's events. Except it wasn't fear that kept him awake. Maybe it was this terrifying loneliness he'd felt for so long.
Thank God for Nancy. All Steve could do was praying that she would stay with him forever.
And then there’s Billy, with his loud car, loud personality and apparently no hobby besides making Steve’s life more miserable. But maybe he has his demons too.
