Lantern Rite, the event that highlights Liyue’s culture and the lovely activities offered bring smiles to the faces of all that attend. This year, Furina, along with Charlotte and Neuvillette were attending. Furina, curious about the event, and excited to attend, was giddy. Walking into the city adorned with paper lanterns, pillars, kites, fireworks, and happy people was a fresh new sight for the hit director and actress of Fontaine. Watching from afar was a director of another sort. Hu Tao, the ever excited director of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, happy to see new faces and possible new customers.

But, maybe his life will get better when the protectors and Demigods of Amphoreus, the Chrysos Heirs themselves, come into his life, greeting him with completely open arms, carrying a past that he slowly discovers for himself through dreams and memories alike.

Summary
Kaveh has been part of the Institution of the Prodigious for many years as an agent— the henchman, so to speak, for the superheroes. Despite his high success rate, his mental state isn’t the best.
This becomes a problem when the chancellor of Sumeru City wants Kaveh part of his new mysterious project. His superiors arrange for Kaveh to have a forced vacation to strengthen his mental health. He only agrees because success in the project guarantees his freedom from the Institution.
Despite his vacation, however, Kaveh gets caught up with a secret alliance of previously unaffiliated supervillains known as the Sages. Their leader, Buer, wants Kaveh’s help in stopping Dottore, a villain even Sumeru’s worst is fearful of.
As Kaveh helps the Sages, he begins forging genuine friendships with them and rediscovering his passion for life.
The only problem is that Kaveh is beginning to confuse some of the supervillains with the friends he used to have— the ones who died. But that doesn’t mean anything… does it?
