Summary
The word caught in Chuuya’s throat, time seeming to freeze. In the moment he let his guard down and raised his gaze, he had already braced himself for what was to come—to see the lively, deep eyes, glowing at him for a fleeting moment before turning into their lifeless, stone version of them.
But that didn’t happen.
With Dazai’s hand still on his chin, Chuuya saw something of incomparable beauty, something he would never be able to liken to anything else for the rest of his life. Milky-white irises, practically blending into the whites of his eyes, gazed at him softly, and the smile playing on Dazai’s lips seemed almost visible in his pale pupils.
“You—You’re blind,” Chuuya choked out. It probably wasn’t the most appropriate thing to say, but he couldn’t muster anything else. Dazai stood here before him, looking him straight in the eyes, alive. It was something Chuuya had never expected to experience again in his lifetime.

Summary
“Tsushima Shuuji,” Chuuya reads out loud. “A bright, optimistic young man with a pep in his step and a zest for life. Hang on–is this referring to you?”
“Unfortunately,” Dazai laments, sighing dramatically. “You just got away with ‘science nerd’ and ‘soccer player,’ but I’m supposed to be an artist! I hate art! It’s useless!”
“Shut the fuck up. That’s not the problem here. You? A ‘zest for life?’ Looking forward to each new morning? Hah! Rimbaud would sooner come back to life.”
Dazai turns to Chuuya with the barest facsimile of a smile painted over his lips.
“I,” he says sweetly, “am going to gut you open like a fish.”
Dazai and Chuuya are seasoned mafiosos at the ripe old age of almost-seventeen. They’ve fought gang wars, interrogated prisoners, and done all manner of unspeakable things. Now, they face their greatest challenge yet: going (undercover) to a real high school. With regular teens (who may or may not be desperately trying to get them to kiss).

Not even a minute had passed when the two of them joined the kids in the kitchen, yet they found Chuuya hanging by the ceiling light, one hand casually holding himself up while the other tightly held on to the box of donuts, and Ranpo trying to balance himself on a chair to reach it.
“This is also new,” Murase informed Fukuzawa, gaping at the sight.
Or, Murase adopts Chuuya when he’s seven and tries to navigate this new journey with the help of his good friend Fukuzawa, fourteen year old Ranpo isn’t against having beef with a child, teenage Chuuya still manages to get a pathetic crush on Dazai and… twenty year old Dazai is really trying to date his coworker, okay?

Summary
“That’s the best you could negotiate it down to?” Ranpo asked once Fukuzawa was done explaining the contract, a slight edge to his voice and Dazai already knew exactly what he was thinking of: the contract was pretty much foolproof on Mori’s end. When someone went in, they might as well be stuck.
“Mori’s initial plan involved multiple rounds of physical and psychological torture to manufacture loyalty to the Mafia,” Dazai added in, feeling a bit of pity for Fukuzawa.
“And how do you know that if this is the first we’re all hearing about this?” Yosano asks and Dazai’s smile turns bitter.
“Mori, I’ll give you the pleasure of answering that.”
“Thank you,” He says smoothly before standing up. “I’ve decided the best course of action is to take Dazai Osamu back to his home in the Port Mafia.”

In which Dazai has planned to return to the Port Mafia, but he doesn't plan on making it much further after that.
