Summary

Wolfwood isn’t exactly handling the revelation well and it wasn’t even news to him.
As if everything wasn’t bad enough already, the gang suddenly finds themselves faced with another group here to take Vash.

On a spaceship in the sky, both parties try to get a feel for each other and their relationship to Vash.

In the wake of what Luida is calling the “arm incident” Vash isolates himself. She’s watching years worth of carefully maintained trust and care shatter in one fell swoop. The boy, once happy, talkative and hyper is now a solemn thing that prefers spending time in bed or curled in the Thomas stables. Luida sighs as she peers through the glass door into the stables where their birds have all migrated to the little crater Vash has carved out for himself. He lies in a ball of red fabric in synthetic straw, back against his favorite of the flock. Wendy is the Thomas Vash has ridden for a few years, she’s as protective of and loyal to Vash as he is to her. Even now she has her neck curled around Vash’s shoulders.

The stars fell from the sky upon a lonely desert planet. The world was made of blood, sand and broken glass - and later on, gunsmoke. What could have been a paradise had become a violent world, one of hard-bitten, traumatized survivors...
Including... the most unexpected.
Ship 3, the single ship of the SEEDS fleet that had remained intact, took victims into their medical facilities in droves from nearby ships that were not so lucky in the early days after the Big Fall. One of the heavily wounded that came in overnight after most of the searches were coming up empty would change everything.
Rem Saverem had survived the apocalypse.
A mix of all canons. Stampede for base-setting. Rem's characterization and much of the backstory are drawn from Trigun Maximum as I prefer that version of her to all others. There are some '98 elements for fun and to fill in details. Planned to end at the end of Stampede's timeline with a possible sequel, which is probably not going to faithfully follow Stargaze as I have established my own "canon" on this story.
