Summary
Jinx doesn’t know what the etiquette is regarding contacting your childhood best friend turned enemy turned one-night-stand who she’d like to be more-than-a-one-night-stand. They’re supposed to be enemies, and generally enemies don’t meet up for regular clandestine sex.
Of course, she doesn’t actually want to be Ekko’s enemy in the first place, but his insistence on the whole anti-shimmer, anti-some-types-of-crimes-but-not-others thing makes that a bit untenable for the immediate future. She doesn’t understand why it even has to matter. She’s just doing what she’s good at. It’s basically just a job. She doesn’t really want to fight him, doesn’t really want to kill his annoying little Firelights. But he keeps bringing them into the middle of shit they have no business being in, so if she has to shoot some of ‘em, frankly she thinks that’s on him.
And, really. There’s the undeniable fact that she’s killed his friends and he fucked her anyway.
