    Naruto continued forward until he felt his knees give out. He stumbled to the ground and tried to keep himself upright but it was no use. Footsteps rushed toward him and he rolled over to see Hidan approaching.

    His furious expression promised nothing short of murder. He looked like he’d walked straight out of a nightmare. Naruto scooted back pathetically but froze instantly when Hidan pointed the silver revolver at him.

    This was it. It was finally over.

    “I’ll make it quick,” Hidan said gently as he panted above him. “And I’ll be right behind you.”

    Naruto gazed up at the slate blue early morning sky. Everything was silent. His eyes slipped closed and when Hidan cocked the hammer back and the sharp metal clink reached Naruto’s ears, he didn’t even flinch.

    Naruto struggles to break free of his his toxic, abusive relationship and tries his hardest to put his life back together. He meets a tall, handsome, dark-haired stranger and as he slowly tries to move on from his past, Naruto’s demons reappear with a deadly vengeance.

    “Sasuke?”

    Sasuke mumbles an affirmative that, unfortunately, he’s still awake.  “M’sorry.  Didn’t mean to wake you.”

    He expects that to be the end of it, that Naruto might shift close and slide his hands up the front of Sasuke’s shirt, nestle in behind him and they’ll sleep wound up around each other.  Or that Naruto might grunt his own version of an answer before falling asleep again, never having truly been awake.

    Instead, he can’t sense Naruto settling back into bed, but can sense he’s about to say something profoundly stupid that will upend Sasuke’s whole night.

    “Am I annoying?”

    “Yes,” Sasuke huffs over a tired laugh.  “You are literally the most annoying person I know.  Now go to sleep.”

    He rolls over, away from Naruto and shoves his face into his pillow.

    Silence envelops them.  

    A wet sniff cuts through it.

    Sasuke’s eyes fly open.  He looks over his shoulder, and Naruto has his eyes buried in his arms, clearly trying to muffle his broken sobs.

    Shinsou Hitoshi was sure that everyone hated him. He had been sure of this for a very long time.

    UA, his mentor and the hero course had almost made him forget.

    It was a Thursday that the crushing reminder killed all his fuzzy, warm feelings, like a boulder plummeting from a cliff and flattening an innocent little bunny into a squirming puddle of blood and guts.

     

    Or; Shinsou has a terrible, terrible day and overhears some things that out of context didn’t sound so great for him.

    Meanwhile, Kaminari has recently experienced his bi awakening and is trying against all odds not to make a total fool of himself in front of his big gay crush.

    Being second was fine. 

    No, really. Kirishima didn't mind too much, he was used to it. He never really liked standing out. In middle school, he tried to be more outgoing, but there was nothing too special about dark black hair and a not-so-flashy hardening quirk. With the extensive amount of effort he put in, Kirishima even managed to place second during the U.A. entrance exam, and that was more than enough for him. Changing himself didn’t work either because even with red hair and a new persona, it wasn't like he suddenly became number one. 

    That spot belonged to Bakugou. Confident, brash, explosive. The boy who glowed so brightly to him. First at the entrance exam. First in the sports festival. First in everything. 

    Especially to Kirishima.
