After clearing a cult of Lord Obliterator out of their secret base below Leonson Keep and beheading their ringleader, Lord Silverden (and then re-heading his corpse as part of a cover-up), the Sunhawks take a much needed rest in the manor of Lord Donovan Vartiss. Still feeling restless after their battle, Shandri finds their host in his study and sits down for some whisky and debriefing. When the pair find a match for the mind in one another, Donovan offers to share the luxuries of his adjoining master bedroom with the necromancer as well.

After defeating the most powerful demon she'd met yet and sealing it into one of her mirrors, Hifumi blacks out on the battlefield. When she awakes, she finds the powerful artifact stolen and tracks down the thief. A blacksmith wandering through had taken it by chance, but by the time Hifumi finds him, he's already melted the mirror down and used its bronze for armor and a sword, both now incredibly cursed thanks to the demon still sealed within. Hifumi must to explain the situation and convince him to help her scatter its pieces to prevent the demon’s return.

Summary
After escaping the Cult of the Charred Claw with her misfortunate predecessor in tow, Hikari and her new companion embark on a quest to find a means of un-fusing the shaman from a demon bear; a result of the Cult's horrific experimentations. However, they soon find themselves hunted by a paladin in black and silver armor bent on vanquishing them. After an initial struggle, Hikari pleads with her to listen to their tale of woe and manages to convince her to assist with the un-fusing. Afterwards, Hikari gives the paladin her life's story in hopes of explaining how she and the shaman got where they are and why her own aura reads as demonic.
