When the dragons gave the first Ninja their gift of the elements, they understood that as a half dragon himself he would be able to comprehend and control the call of the elements. All dragons faced the call of the elements, it was what made them dragons to begin with. What the dragons had not anticipated, was the elements falling into mortal hands. Split up and fractured though the elements were, the nature of the elements remained distinctly dragon.
And the nature of dragons is to conquer.

Yuuji and Sukuna get thrown into another world. On balance, it's probably a good thing, even if only because something worthy could be built from the ruin they leave in their wake.
