Summary
Nagisa Shiota has been called into the school counselors office four times this week. He’s been struggling mentally, physically and emotionally. His mother is a bitch who picks apart every insecurity he has. He’s failing his classes, has no friends and is slowly spiraling into a deeper depression. His scars only go deeper and he’s finally contemplating killing himself to end his pain. Life is plain, he has no aspirations and he can’t see himself with a girl let alone a girlfriend. One night, he stands at the edge of a bridge when he hears the comforting chirps of a red collared dove.

“How the fuck are we gonna make it back to bumfuck New Jersey?”
The plan was simple. First, go to Seattle and win Nationals. Then, drive back with coach Ben as a type of goodbye-bonding-roadtrip-bullshit to celebrate their senior year (Jackie’s idea, of course.) And lastly, graduate, get drunk and probably never see each other again. Or at least that's what Natalie thought of doing.
They win nationals, alright. Then whatever happens next seems straight out of a bad R-rated comedy.
Alternatively: roadtrip au where Misty is the only person that can read a map and everyone's kinda gay and have a lot of feelings.

"Scared? Are you kidding? Seeing you in your clown costume when we were six was fucking scary!" Nat’s eyes were alive with excitement. "Van, this is insane. Do you know what this means? You could be a hero! Like, for real!"

If anyone who attended Wiskayok High School was asked a question about Lottie Matthews and Natalie Scatorccio, they would’ve laughed out loud and said that they hated each other. Lottie still looks back on it and cringes a little, because they’re only in their junior year of high school and people are still placing bets on who is going to win.
