Summary
The staff at the archives have enough on their plates. Between being literally trapped at their jobs and trying to stop the Unknowing, they simply cannot handle another crisis. Trust and communication are at an all-time low.
The last thing any of them need is to suddenly have to care for two children - especially when one of them was raised to be Lonely and the other insists he's from the 1800s. Both children claim to have no memories of their adult selves.
Trusting these children seems beyond foolish, and their presence brings up traumas old and new for everyone around them. But children could grow up to be anyone. So regardless of who they used to be or what powers have claimed them, don't they deserve that chance?

When Wesker learns of Chris and Leon's relationship he quickly develops feelings of jealously he doesn't quite understand. His façade of control slips and the limits of his strength are tested when Leon realizes that his captor is just as much a captive as he is.

The Lonely’s echo sticks to Elias’ words, drags them out and smears them across Peter’s mind. “You’re not making any sense,” says Peter.
“It all makes sense,” says Elias, and his voice is so empty, so lonely, so very much not Elias, that Peter wants to scream.
“How long have you been here?” he asks instead.
Elias shrugs. “I don’t know. Days. Weeks. Months. Rosie would know. She’s not here, though. Nobody is.”
“I am here,” says Peter, not sure why it’s so important for him to make sure Elias knows this.
